My first big college trip was a few weeks ago! 7 colleges. 6 days. Very little sleep. Insanity! But so much fun.
My mom and I took advantage of one of our week long breaks from school and took the red eye to Boston to begin our fete de universite! But, by the time we got to the information session at Boston College (which I loved), I had to hold my eyes open to stay awake. That's not a joke. I was so exhausted from the flight that sitting down became dangerous. Luckily, I got to sleep on the train to New York, though my mom didn't greatly appreciate me splaying my arms and legs across my seat as well as hers.
We spent the weekend first in Pennsylvania visiting UPenn and Bryn Mawr (I surprisingly liked UPenn a lot even though it's a city school), then in New York, having brunch with some family there and then touring Barnard and Columbia with my cousin who's a student at Barnard.
Sunday night we took the train to Washington D.C. and stayed in a lovely hotel in Georgetown (The Dupont Circle Hotel - I highly recommend it!). Monday was our Georgetown tour, and come on, who couldn't love Georgetown! Such an amazing college and a beautiful campus.
Tuesday we made the drive to University of Virginia, a lovely three hours, fueled by Starbucks of course. I absolutely loved UVA. The history, the architecture, the traditions, the secret societies! Such a great experience :)
I'm sure this will be the first of many college trips before next fall, once the application process begins. Until then, life will be as stressful as ever as I head into the home stretch, studying as hard as I ever will!
xoxo
